Lines, D-pairs and goalies, set once and shared

The lineup editor is built the way a hockey bench works. Each forward line has left wing, center and right wing slots, defense is set in pairs, the goalies get their own spot, and you can flag who starts. On the team page, parents see first names and jersey numbers — never a surname.

What each line is called is the coach’s choice. Letters are the default, so no family reads a ranking into Line 3, but lines can also be numbered, named for practice-jersey colors, or given names of your own. Move a player on Thursday night and the team page shows the new lines, with no group text needed.

Skater and goalie stats that can’t contradict themselves

Enter games played, goals, assists and blocked shots for skaters, and saves and goals against for goalies, as running season totals. Points, save percentage and goals-against average are worked out from those numbers every time the page loads, so one typo can never leave two figures disagreeing. A goalie who has not played yet shows no save percentage at all, rather than a discouraging .000.

Which rink, which jersey, what time

Each game can carry the rink name, its address and a directions link, plus the jersey: dark at home and light on the road by default, and changeable for the tournament where both teams wear red. Tap an event for the coach’s notes, like when to be dressed or which door the team uses. Families can subscribe once and see every change in their own phone calendar.

If your league or scheduling service publishes a calendar feed, connect it and league games arrive by themselves, refreshed every six hours. Enter a final score and the win-loss-tie record and the recent results list update with it.

Tournament weekends and hotel blocks

Away tournaments are where team management usually falls apart: a hotel block email from August, a nightly rate nobody remembers, a booking cut-off that passes while families are still deciding. In leaguify each trip gets its own card with the hotel, the rate, the deadline and a button that goes straight to the booking page, beside directions to the hotel and the rink.

The weekend’s games sit with the trip they belong to, and a before-you-book note answers what every family asks: whether there is a pool, how parking works, and whether a sibling’s room counts toward the block.

Penalty box, clock and 50/50: volunteer jobs parents claim themselves

Youth hockey runs on parent volunteers. Post the weekend’s jobs — penalty box, scoreboard clock, scorekeeper, the 50/50 table — and families claim them from the team page. Everyone can see what is still open, so the manager stops posting the same reminder to the group chat every Thursday.

Paperwork works the same way. Post the blank medical release or travel permission form once, and completed copies come back into private storage that only the coaching staff can open — never another parent, and never a shared drive.

RSVPs by player, not by reply-all

Turn on RSVP and each family answers going or not going for their own player, one event at a time. The coach sees the counts, who has not answered, and any note a parent left, such as a late arrival for the early game, without chasing texts on Friday night.

A team page families actually open

The team page installs to a phone’s home screen straight from the browser, with its own icon and your team’s colors, and there is no app store involved. If you would rather not publish the roster at all, the access gate limits the schedule, roster, travel and contacts to the families you approve.
